EMURGO, the founder of the Cardano network, has announced a partnership with Wirex, a UK digital payments platform, to launch the official Cardano Visa card.
The new card, which integrates directly into the Wirex application, allows you to use Cardano (ADA), the native token of the Cardano network, with over 680 cryptocurrencies. Make everyday purchases at any business that accepts Visain addition to offering rewards in crypto assets for usage.
It is worth noting that Wirex has more than 6 million users in 130 countries and a trading volume of more than $20 billion (USD). The card will be available in several Spanish-speaking countries including Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Spain.
According to EMURGO CEO Philip Pong, the partnership “significantly increases Cardano’s visibility in the banking world and bridges the gap between real-world and on-chain utilities.”
The initiative requires Incorporating the use of the ADA into daily economic lifewhich combines traditional services with DeFi tools such as loans and returns.
The card is currently available through the Wirex mobile app on iOS and Android, but is not intended for UK residents.
EMURGO and Wirex’s efforts to bring cryptocurrencies closer to everyday use are in line with global trends led by major players in the financial sector. Visa, for example, is working on the integration of four stablecoins in different networks, which will allow these assets to be exchanged into more than 25 fiat currencies and expand their real-world usage in everyday consumption.
