Dubai Customs and Binance have agreed to collaborate to expand digital payment capabilities by integrating crypto assets into commercial and logistics transactions.
Signed during Binance Week 2025 in Dubai, Binance, a provider of payment solutions including Binance Pay, will strive to strengthen trade flows and accelerate investment cycles by providing solutions to Dubai Customs, signed between Dr. Abdulla Busenad, Commissioner of Dubai Customs, and Stephanie Emir, General Manager of Binance FZE in Dubai.
Dubai’s local logistics sector benefits from digital payments
According to the agreement, digital assets will be integrated into the commerce and logistics sector to support innovative financial infrastructure using blockchain, reducing transaction times and costs.
According to the announcement, the partnership will improve the efficiency of import-export operations, streamline customs clearance and attract new investors, especially small and medium-sized enterprises, by offering modern payment options to help expand business and access new global markets.
Dubai Customs already uses blockchain for tamper-proof data sharing
In 2024, Dubai Customs launched a blockchain platform to speed up customs clearance and commercial transactions. Blockchain platforms facilitate secure and tamper-proof data sharing, enhancing trust and visibility across the supply chain.
This was not the first time Dubai Customs used blockchain technology. In 2023, Dubai Customs received its second Intellectual Property Certificate from the UAE Ministry of Economy for its ground-breaking “Blockchain System for Managing Intellectual Property and Knowledge Assets.”
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Chairman and CEO of DP World and Chairman of the Ports and Customs Free Zone Authority, said that through such partnerships, Dubai is establishing a progressive economic model that can meet the requirements of the digital economy.
He further added, “We support efforts to strengthen Dubai’s position as a trade and logistics hub, invest in advanced digital solutions to improve business efficiency, and build a next-generation payments ecosystem in line with the D33 economic agenda.”
Additionally, Dubai Customs Commissioner Dr. Abdulla Busenad said that Dubai Customs is accelerating its digital transformation, making procedures smarter and leveraging advanced technologies. He said the cooperation with Binance “opens a new chapter in the development of digital payments by integrating crypto assets.”
Small businesses benefit from payment solutions and modern customs systems
He added: “By integrating digital payment solutions, we are moving towards a future with faster, more accurate and more transparent processes, supported by a technological infrastructure that can accommodate the rapid growth of digital trade and build a better economy based on innovation and future readiness.”
Binance CEO Richard Teng said, “Through this MoU, we will jointly launch innovative solutions that can bring tangible change to the local and global customs sector, strengthen Dubai’s digital ecosystem, and develop infrastructure that is in line with global trends towards a smarter and more sustainable economy.”
