A new statement regarding ETH was released by Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin.
From his X account, Buterin made a new proposal regarding ETH, saying that next year’s Ethereum growth model will be “more selective scaling.”
Vitalik Buterin said he expects Ethereum to move from “scaling everything” to “targeted optimization” next year.
Buterin noted that while Ethereum’s overall growth will continue, not all areas will expand equally.
At this point, Buterin proposed possible measures such as increasing the block gas limit by five times, while increasing the gas cost by the same amount for low or inefficient transactions.
This proposal aims to directly improve network scalability and promote more efficient use of network resources.
“We expect continued growth next year, but more targeted and less monotonous growth.
At the same time that we increase the gas limit by 5x, we also increase the gas cost of transactions that are expensive to process on-chain by 5x. ”
Buterin said the proposal includes the creation of new storage slots by SSTORE, certain other SSTORE operations, precompilation (except for elliptic curve ones), CALLs to large contracts, complex arithmetic instructions, and call data.
