Jason Zhao, co-founder of Intellectual Property Blockchain Project Story Protocol, has stepped away from his full-time role after building the platform for more than three years.
In a social media post, Zhao announced that he will remain as a strategic advisor, focusing on Poseidon, a new AI initiative to apply artificial intelligence to frontier industries such as science, biopharma, robotics and space.
3. After building five years of storylines from scratch, I’m out of my full-time role. Stay closely involved as a strategic advisor.
While incubating Poseidon, I rekindled my former passion from deep times by applying AI to frontier industries such as science and space.

“Language generation is just the first wave of a cascade of rich intelligence across the field. If successful, it will constitute a new industrial revolution,” Zhao said in a post in X.
Zhao launched Story Protocol in 2021 as a way to make intellectual property “programmable” and allows rights holders to register and monetize content directly on the chain.
The project has since secured more than $130 million in venture funding from backers, including A16Z.
Leadership will be passed entirely to co-founder Sy Lee as CEO, with Andrea as Chief Product Officer and Sandeep as Chief AI Officer.
Zhao said he would stay close to the story through partnerships and investments, calling the project “the most meaningful experience of my life.”
IP, a Story Protocol token, has increased 2% a day to over $5.80.
