The world launches a Ratum-centric incentive to discuss new security measures in Argentina
Despite the massive opposition facing Latin American local governments, the world is calling for greater influence and adoption in the region. Recently, the Biometric and ID Initiative launched Build Latam, a program aimed at enhancing regional projects that utilize services in a variety of major industry sectors.
The programme has provided 1 million WLD tokens to 15 different projects in Ratum, recently announced in Argentina, highlighting the country’s relevance. At launch, Tools for Humanity Regional Latam manager Martin Mazza emphasized that new security measures are being implemented to keep user data safe.
Mazza explained that since October, World has implemented an anonymized multi-party calculation (AMPC) protocol to improve the security of user data. Explaining the internal mechanisms of this approach, Mazza states:
What the system does is to divide it into various secrets stored in different databases that are protected by different universities against its anonymized human proof.
“It’s like something you divide the seed phrase into different parts and store it in different databases held by different universities,” he added, highlighting the security benefits of users and projects.
Mazza revealed that World did not provide money in exchange for user verification, and the reward given to users was provided in the form of WorldCoin, the protocol’s native token. “This asset gives ownership over the network, a way to participate in the value that may be in the governance of the network itself in the future,” he said.
Argentina is one of the countries with the most participation in the protocol, with over 2.2 million Argentina already verifying their IDs by reading the iris with orbs, the eye scan machine.
